The 2026 Nissan LEAF® is a five-passenger electric vehicle offered in S+, SV+, and PLAT+ grades. Its mechanical specifications include a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery, two available AC synchronous electric motors, multiple charging connections, and vehicle-to-load capability. Depending on the grade, the electric powertrain produces up to 214 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque, while the Nissan-estimated driving range reaches up to 303 miles. The equipment lineup also includes NissanConnect® technology, available Google built-in services, ProPILOT Assist, multiple driver-assistance systems, and flexible cargo accommodations. Its technical content covers electric performance, charging hardware, dimensions, exterior equipment, passenger comfort, connected technology, utility, and safety systems.

Electric Performance and Charging Systems

The 2026 Nissan LEAF® pairs a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery with one of two AC synchronous electric motors. The S+ uses a 130 kW motor that produces 174 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque. The SV+ and PLAT+ receive a 160 kW motor rated at 214 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. Every grade also includes a 7.2 kW onboard charger. These configurations establish distinct output, efficiency, and range specifications across the three-grade lineup.

Range and Efficiency

Nissan estimates that the 2026 Nissan LEAF® S+ can travel up to 303 miles on a charge. The SV+ carries an estimated range of 288 miles, while the PLAT+ has an estimated range of 259 miles. Efficiency ratings for the S+ measure 131 MPGe in the city, 111 MPGe on the highway, and 121 MPGe combined. The SV+ carries ratings of 123 MPGe city, 105 MPGe highway, and 114 MPGe combined. The PLAT+ is rated at 110 MPGe city, 96 MPGe highway, and 103 MPGe combined.

Driving and charging conditions can affect the listed estimates. Charging time and driving range may vary based on driving habits, charging habits, weather, temperature, and battery age. The separate city, highway, and combined MPGe ratings provide grade-specific efficiency figures for different operating conditions. Each grade combines the same 75 kWh battery capacity with its assigned motor, wheel, tire, and equipment configuration. These published measurements allow drivers to review the relationship between power output, estimated efficiency, and driving range across the lineup.

Charging Connections and Vehicle-to-Load Capability

Every 2026 Nissan LEAF® includes a portable charge cable compatible with 120-volt and 240-volt electrical sources. The vehicle provides both a J1772 charging port and a North American Charging Standard port. Plug & Charge capability is also standard throughout the lineup. The estimated quick-charging time from 10 percent to 80 percent is 35 minutes. A standard charging timer allows the driver to set a desired charging time through the vehicle.

Vehicle-to-load capability gives the 2026 Nissan LEAF® an additional functional connection to its battery system. Every grade can provide up to 1,500 watts through the exterior J1772 port when paired with the required adapter. The PLAT+ also includes a vehicle-to-load plug in the cargo area, while a 120-volt power outlet is optional for that grade. A battery heater is available as an option on SV+ and PLAT+ models. These features provide several ways to manage charging and access stored battery energy through the vehicle’s designated connections.

Disclaimer: Charging time and capacity may vary based on power source, ambient temperature, battery temperature, condition, age, and use of vehicle accessories while charging. For Level 1 home charging use only a 110-120 volt, 15-amp dedicated outlet. For Level 2 home charging use only a 240 volt dock on a dedicated outlet. See Customer Disclosure Form for details.

Dimensions, Steering, and Exterior Equipment

The 2026 Nissan LEAF® measures 173.4 inches long and rides on a 105.9-inch wheelbase. Overall width measures 71.3 inches without the mirrors and 82.6 inches with the mirrors. The body stands 61.3 inches tall and provides 5.3 inches of ground clearance. Its approach angle measures 18.0 degrees, while its departure angle measures 23.7 degrees. These dimensions define the exterior footprint shared by the three listed grades.

Vehicle-speed-sensitive electric power steering is standard across the lineup. The steering system provides a curb-to-curb turning diameter of 35.4 feet. Every steering wheel includes manual tilt and telescopic adjustment, TailorFit™ material, cruise-control switches, audio controls, and Bluetooth® switches. The PLAT+ adds steering-wheel heating to this standard control arrangement. These steering features combine physical adjustment with direct access to frequently used driving and communication functions.

Vehicle weight varies by grade and equipment. The S+ has a listed total weight of 4,187 pounds, divided between 2,349 pounds at the front and 1,838 pounds at the rear. The SV+ weighs 4,231 pounds, with 2,349 pounds at the front and 1,862 pounds at the rear. The PLAT+ has a listed total weight of 4,369 pounds, including 2,425 pounds at the front and 1,944 pounds at the rear. Weight distribution is listed at 56 percent in front and 44 percent in the rear for all three grades.
Track width also differs according to grade. The S+ and SV+ measure 62.4 inches at the front and 62.1 inches at the rear. The PLAT+ measures 62.0 inches at the front and 61.7 inches at the rear. These figures accompany the grade-specific wheel, tire, and weight specifications. They also provide additional dimensional detail beyond the shared wheelbase, length, width, height, and ground-clearance measurements.

Wheels, Lighting, and Body Hardware

Wheel and tire equipment separates the three 2026 Nissan LEAF® grades. The S+ has 18-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers, while the SV+ uses 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Both grades ride on 215/55 R18 Yokohama AVID GT tires. The PLAT+ receives 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels fitted with 235/45 R19 Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S tires. Each grade therefore carries a defined wheel and tire combination within the same overall body dimensions.

LED headlights with automatic on and off operation are standard throughout the lineup. Every grade also includes LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, High Beam Assist, and a center high-mounted stop light. The PLAT+ adds an LED full center signature lamp. Dual-power remote-controlled outside mirrors are standard on all three grades, while integrated LED turn signals appear on SV+ and PLAT+ models. PLAT+ equipment further includes heated outside mirrors with memory.

Body-related convenience equipment also varies by grade. The S+ and SV+ use a manual liftgate, while the PLAT+ has a motion-activated power liftgate. Roof rails are standard on the PLAT+ and are not listed for the other grades. The PLAT+ also includes a dimming panoramic roof. These exterior features distinguish the highest grade through additional lighting, a mirror, a roof, and liftgate equipment.

Passenger Comfort and Cargo Functionality

The 2026 Nissan LEAF® accommodates five occupants and provides different seating materials across its three grades. The S+ features cloth seating, while the SV+ applies TailorFit™ material to the front seats. The PLAT+ uses TailorFit™ material in both seating rows. A six-way manually adjustable front passenger seat and 60/40-split folding rear seats are standard throughout the lineup. The grade structure adds further seat adjustment, heating, memory, and storage features above this shared foundation.

The SV+ and PLAT+ models include an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, a driver’s seatback pocket, and a rear center armrest. The PLAT+ adds power lumbar support and memory for the driver’s seat. It also includes heated rear seats, extending the heating function beyond the front row. These features give the upper grades additional adjustability and comfort equipment. The seating specifications remain tied to a five-passenger cabin in every configuration.

Front-seat dimensions include 39.9 inches of headroom, 42.4 inches of legroom, 53.2 inches of hip room, and 56.0 inches of shoulder room. Rear passengers receive 31.8 inches of legroom, 51.5 inches of hip room, and 54.6 inches of shoulder room. Rear headroom measures 37.2 inches in S+ and SV+ models. The PLAT+ provides 36.6 inches of rear headroom. These measurements document the available occupant space in both seating rows.

Cargo volume measures 20 cubic feet with the second row upright. Folding the rear seats increases the available cargo volume to 55.5 cubic feet. The 60/40 split allows the rear seating area to be reconfigured instead of requiring the entire second row to remain in one position. SV+ and PLAT+ models add the Divide-N-Hide® Cargo System for further cargo-area organization. The PLAT+ also places a vehicle-to-load plug inside the cargo area.

Climate Controls and Storage Features

Automatic climate control with rear foot ducting is standard on every 2026 Nissan LEAF® grade. The SV+ and PLAT+ add rear air vents and a hybrid heater system with a heat pump. Standard cabin equipment includes a front 12-volt power outlet, center-console storage, an illuminated room lamp, a glove compartment, and two center-console cup holders. Four bottle holders are positioned in the door panels. Sun visors with extensions are also standard, while SV+ and PLAT+ models add a sunglasses holder.

Interior lighting varies according to grade. The S+ and SV+ include white ambient lighting. The PLAT+ replaces that configuration with multicolor ambient lighting. Cargo-area lighting is standard throughout the lineup. These lighting provisions cover the passenger compartment and storage area while allowing the PLAT+ to provide an expanded ambient-lighting configuration.

Additional convenience equipment includes power windows with remote opening for the driver’s window and power door locks with an automatic locking system. Nissan Intelligent Key™ with push-button start is standard across all three grades. The S+ and SV+ use variable intermittent windshield wipers, while the PLAT+ receives automatic windshield wipers with a rain sensor. Every grade includes a rear window defroster and Rear Door Alert. The S+ and SV+ have a manual-dimming inside rearview mirror, while the PLAT+ uses a frameless auto-dimming mirror.

Displays, Connectivity, and Safety Technology

The 2026 Nissan LEAF® S+ features NissanConnect® with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch Advanced Drive-Assist® Display. SV+ and PLAT+ models increase both screen sizes to 14.3 inches. Their NissanConnect® systems include Google Assistant, Google Maps, the Play Store, and Nissan Door to Door Connected Navigation. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™ are standard throughout the range. SiriusXM® 360, Amazon Alexa Built-in, Bluetooth® hands-free phone capability, hands-free text messaging, and NissanConnect® 5G telematics are also standard.

Audio equipment begins with a four-speaker system in the S+. The SV+ uses a six-speaker audio system. The PLAT+ receives a Bose® Personal Plus® audio system with 10 speakers. Every grade has two front USB Type-C ports, while SV+ and PLAT+ models add two charge-only USB Type-C ports in the rear. A wireless phone charging pad is also standard on SV+ and PLAT+ models.

The PLAT+ adds a head-up display to its instrumentation package. Digital information includes the speedometer, power meter, outside-temperature display, tire-pressure warning, shift-position indicator, and clock. The displays also communicate battery temperature, remaining energy, and battery capacity level. This collection of readouts keeps electric-vehicle information within the vehicle’s digital instrumentation. Regenerative braking paddles on SV+ and PLAT+ models add another driver-operated function to the steering-wheel area.

Driver Assistance and Occupant Protection

ProPILOT Assist is standard on every 2026 Nissan LEAF®. The standard driver-assistance equipment also includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection. Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Warning, and Blind Spot Intervention support monitoring around the vehicle’s intended path. Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Driver Attention Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition, and High Beam Assist are also included. This equipment remains standard across S+, SV+, and PLAT+ grades.

A 3D Intelligent Around View® Monitor works with Front Wide View and Intelligent Hood View to provide multiple camera perspectives. Rear sonar sensors are standard on every grade. Front sonar sensors are included on SV+ and PLAT+ models. The 2026 Nissan LEAF® also includes an anti-lock braking system, Vehicle Dynamic Control, traction control, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Post-collision automatic hazard activation and an emergency-call function complete the listed active-safety and post-collision equipment.

The restraint system includes the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front air bags, seat-belt sensors, and an occupant-classification sensor. Front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags provide additional coverage for the front seating area. Roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags extend protection along the sides of the passenger compartment. Driver and front-passenger knee supplemental airbags are also standard. Rear seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags add dedicated coverage for second-row occupants.
